When your Facebook Business Page goes missing, it's stressful, particularly if you've got live ad campaigns running, an engaged audience, or money coming in. What you do next hinges on what happened in the first place. Did someone break in? Did Meta pull the plug? Did you accidentally hide it yourself? Was it deleted for good? Read on for the way through each situation.

Scenario 1: Your Page Has Been Hacked

Someone else got into your Page, kicked you out as admin, or changed the email address and phone number linked to it.

1. Visit facebook.com/hacked and choose the «My account is compromised» option.
2. Change your personal profile password straight away. Turn on two-step verification.
3. Log into Help Centre → Hacked Pages and file a Page recovery claim.
4. Provide a copy of official ID that matches the original admin account holder.
5. Give Meta 5 to 14 days to look into your case. If it goes through, you'll get full admin rights back and the hacker will be removed.

Scenario 2: Meta Has Disabled Your Page

Your Page was taken down by Meta because it broke community rules or advertising guidelines.

1. Head to business.facebook.com/accountquality and find your Page.
2. Check what the violation was. Typical culprits include brand name misuse, posing as someone else, repeated breaches of ad rules, or multiple strikes against community standards.
3. Tap Appeal This Decision.
4. Write a brief, honest appeal that shows you understand the policy and describe what you've changed.
5. Unsuccessful? If your Page had a solid following, get in touch with Meta Business support through the chat and ask them to step in.

Scenario 3: You've Hidden Your Page by Mistake

Someone with admin rights (possibly you) has hit Unpublish in the Page settings. Your Page is now hidden from public view, but you're able to bring it back online whenever you choose.

1. Access your Page through Meta Business Suite → Settings → Privacy → Page Visibility.
2. Switch the setting from Page Unpublished across to Page Published.
3. Hit save. Your Page will go live straight away.

Scenario 4, Page Deleted

When you delete a Page, it sits in a 14-day grace window before the system removes it permanently.

1. Within the first 14 days after deletion: sign in as the admin who deleted the Page. Go to Settings → Page Visibilityand select Cancel Deletion.
2. Once the 14 days have passed: the deletion becomes final. Your only option then is to start from scratch with a new Page and rebuild your following.
3. If your Page carried a verified blue badge or had a substantial audience, submit a request through the Help Centre outlining that the deletion was accidental. Meta does occasionally restore Pages of high value even outside the grace period.
4. Should the Page have been essential to your business and held a verified Business Manager connection, a dedicated Meta account manager (if assigned to you) may be able to push through a restoration request.

Scenario 5, Page Removed from Your BM

Your Page itself is perfectly functional and published, yet it's been unlinked from your Business Manager. As a result, you cannot set up advertising campaigns for it.

1. First, verify that an existing admin still has access to the Page (disconnecting from BM does not strip admin roles at the Page itself).
2. Within your BM account, head to Business Settings → Pages → Add → Request Access.
3. Put in your request. The person who manages the Page must confirm it via the Pages Inbox on the Page.
4. Once they've given the go-ahead, link your ad accounts and pixel back to the Page.

Long-Term Page Protection Playbook

• Maintain at least 2 different admins, each using their own separate account.
• Turn on two-factor authentication for every admin across their personal Facebook account.
• Create a dedicated «manager» profile for your Page admin responsibilities, separate from your everyday social account.
• Audit your Page permissions each month. Revoke access for anyone who doesn't need it any longer.
• Keep your Page hooked up to a verified Business Manager, as verified BM Pages receive priority treatment when recovery is needed.
• Download your Page's content (posts, photos, videos) every three months using Meta's data export feature.

Getting your Page back after compromise relies on two things: moving quickly (the 14-day window matters) and having multiple admins. If your Page runs on a single admin account right now, add another this week.
