The Situation

PayStream sells B2B payment infrastructure to a tight group of targets: roughly 1,400 specific accounts spread across three sectors. At this scale, account-based campaigns cannot afford sluggish agency turnarounds. When a competitor moves, regulations shift, or a prospect changes hands, the creative needs to respond within hours, not days.

The old agency worked to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule with a Zendesk ticketing system handling everything. Creative turnarounds sat at six working days. By the time a campaign actually shifted, the news that sparked the change had already moved on.

Our Method

Single shared Telegram channel

From day one, we created one chat space: PayStream's CMO and demand-gen lead, our account handler, our second AM, the LinkedIn buyer, the Google buyer, and the creative director. No separate groups, no ticketing portal, no email chains. One place, everyone involved.

Dedicated creative team on standby

PayStream has reserved creative capacity that operates independently of project schedules. When a brief lands at 9pm, the creative director on duty handles it, not a contractor who needs a brand refresh for the third time that quarter.

Ready-made templates for fast turnarounds

We assembled a collection of ABM templates (triggered by events, news, competitor moves) with fixed brand structures and changeable hero messaging. Pivoting means updating the headline, swapping the data point and refreshing the call-to-action within a proven template, not starting from scratch.

Secondary AM with full account knowledge

When the lead AM is offline, the secondary AM sits in the same channel, gets weekly account briefings, and has authority to sign off creative work. PayStream's CMO doesn't have to wait for the US East Coast office hours.

How It Played Out

The moment
9:14pm UTC, a competitor announces a feature release that goes straight at PayStream's core positioning. The CMO posts a message in the shared Telegram channel.
9:21pm
Secondary AM sees it, alerts the creative director, drafts a response brief and shares it for approval.
10:48pm
Creative director delivers two static options and a short video clip using the rapid-response template; CMO backs variant A.
By 9am the next day
New creative runs across LinkedIn ABM and Meta retargeting for the account list. Previous creative comes down. Analytics reset.

What Happened Next

  • Median reply time on Telegram over the past year: 4 minutes 12 seconds during office hours, 17 minutes when it's night-time.
  • Three documented after-hours pivots in the opening nine months, all from brief to finished creative in under 12 hours.
  • Not one ticket backlog issue; the previous agency regularly had 14 tickets waiting at any given time.
  • PayStream's CMO has publicly stated (see above) that this communication standard is what B2B fintech companies want but seldom receive from agencies.
"

The Telegram support has genuinely been the best we've had. When we needed to change our campaign overnight, they had fresh creative ready by 9am the following morning.

What We Learned From This Project

  • Response speed amplifies what your creative team can produce. The quicker an agency moves, the more tests it runs and the better it performs.
  • Ticket systems don't work for performance accounts. Use them for invoices. Keep creative work out.
  • When you're working with a handful of named accounts, account-based marketing demands pace. Your agency partners need to keep up with market speed, or you're already behind.
