What is an MCC Account?
An MCC (My Client Center) account is Google Ads' manager-level dashboard that lets you operate unlimited sub-accounts under one login, with consolidated billing, shared budgets, and centralized reporting. You need an MCC the moment you manage more than three accounts, run client work, or scale beyond a single brand. The agency-tier MCC also unlocks higher spending limits and faster Google support response.
How an MCC works
An MCC sits above standard Google Ads accounts as a parent. Sub-accounts retain their own campaigns, budgets, and conversion tracking, but billing, user permissions, and reporting roll up to the MCC. A single MCC can hold up to 85,000 sub-accounts, and MCCs themselves can be nested up to six levels deep for agency hierarchies.
Standard vs. agency-tier MCC
A standard MCC is free and self-serve. An agency-tier (Google Partner) MCC requires Google approval but ships with priority support, higher initial spend limits, partner badge eligibility, and access to restricted ad categories that standard accounts cannot run.
When you actually need one
Run an MCC when (1) you manage three or more independent advertisers, (2) you need consolidated invoicing, (3) you want to grant team access without sharing client logins, or (4) you plan to apply for Google Partner status which requires manager accounts.

Frequently asked
Is an MCC the same as a Google Ads account?
No. An MCC is the manager layer that sits above Google Ads accounts. Campaigns, keywords, and ads still live in the sub-accounts.
Can I move an existing Google Ads account into an MCC?
Yes. You send a 'link request' from the MCC, the sub-account owner accepts, and billing/reporting then roll up. Campaign data is preserved.
How many sub-accounts can one MCC hold?
Up to 85,000. Most agencies live well under that, but the headroom matters for white-label and reseller models.
Does an MCC raise spending limits automatically?
An agency-tier MCC unlocks higher initial limits and faster review for further increases. Standard MCCs do not.
