What is Landing Page Experience?
Landing Page Experience is Google Ads' rating of how relevant, useful, and easy-to-navigate your landing page is for the keyword that triggered the ad. It's one of the three components of Quality Score and a direct lever on CPC.
What Google evaluates
Topical relevance to the keyword and ad, original useful content, easy navigation, transparency about your business, mobile-friendliness, and load speed (Core Web Vitals). Above Average rating earns the cheapest CPC.
Common landing page failures
Generic homepage as the destination (low relevance), thin content (looks spammy), slow load (CWV failure), heavy popups (annoying), missing trust signals (no contact, no policies), and mobile layout breaks.
Best landing pages
Match the ad's promise word-for-word, single primary CTA, social proof above the fold, fast (under 2.5s LCP), mobile-first, and clear path to convert. Most accounts double conversion rate by rebuilding landing pages alone.

Frequently asked
Does landing page speed matter for SEO too?
Yes - Core Web Vitals affect both organic rankings and Quality Score.
One landing page per ad group?
Ideal. Practical: one per ad-group theme. Generic homepage as destination should be the last resort.
Will A/B testing change Quality Score?
Indirectly - better-performing pages improve Landing Page Experience over time.
Mobile vs. desktop landing page?
Responsive site that works for both. Separate URLs are now the worse option.
